Hey guys,
I'm new to the forum and just wanna say that i'm glad i found it. You guys really know you're stuff. Well i recently got my license and my moms 1989 XLT Bronco just got handed down to me. I'm really excited, but it's been around. It's been drivin from Wisconsin, to Arizona, and now to Texas (not to mention general usage in all places). So yeah, it's been sitting in the driveway for about a year and i know the gas gauge doesn't work. Pretty much what i want to know is what should i check if it has been sitting around for that long. Oh yeah, one other thing- the brakes are acting a little spongy and too easy to push down...so any help would be appreciated, thx!
install new brakes and a new battery. also chainge the oil. siphon the gas and inspect it. might be kinda varnishy if its been sitting. install a new fuel guage thingy and you should be good to go
i would check spark plugs + the plug wires, and air filter to see how things are and if they need replacing. Those and what is said above are the basic things u should do plus checking for leaks and stuff, u know.
U ought to get u a cd player and some new speakers too!
good gerneral tune up, new air filter wash-n-wax, belts and hoses check all the lights and most important, get a good looking girl to sit in the jump seat while your cruzin around. DW
