Does anyone know if there is a sight glass to check if the a/c is fully serviced. I have not had my truck into the dealer yet but the a/c seems weak. I am aware that the new refrigerant takes longer to cool, but I am running on max almost all the time. Thanks
Bob, I just checked the airconditioning system on my F-250SD crewcab andt here is not a sight glass on the system that I can see. I don't have any trouble keeping the complete cab cool with the the fan on the first dot, the temperature control completely counter-clock wise, and the it set for normal air not max-air. My truck is wedgewood blue and not a light color. I would suggest getting your truck to the shop and checked out.
I have not been happy with the cooling on my '99 F-250SD CC. The dealer said the a/c was working fine. Just found out from the shop mannual that hot water always circulates to the heater core. Thus, I am wondering if the door which controls air flow past the heater core is closing properly. It seems that in the fresh air "vent" position, the system puts out air considerably warmer than the outside air. I have yet to go back to the dearler to have this checked out.
I have an 2004 Crew Cab 6.0 PSD and I gotta say you can hang meat in this thing. The wife and kids are always asking me to lower it.I have the truck for 1.5 years at this point and its been great since its birth back in 1/04.
Well, I have been reading these A/C posts and was worried about it not being cold enough. I wasn't concerned with the fact that it was 134 as my wifes 03 ranger will put freeze you out. It was more the CC being so much bigger. I just picked up my truck last week and have been in temps up to 112 and am not dissapointed with it. It probably does take a bit longer to cool down than R12 does though.
