header wrap

hey guys, i wanted to put some header wrap on my 460 exaust manifolds to prevent them from ehating up teh engine compartment and gettin heat too close to important stuff, any ideas? is mine good or bad? its an 89 bronco w/ a 460. lemme know what you think. thanks guys

Header wrap isnt good. It creats the ideal environment for decay. It traps all of the moisture and road debris right against the pipe, and rots the primary tubes quicker. What kind of condition are the headers in? Newer? Have you though about getting them ceramic coated? That is the only real alternative.

they arnt headers, they are manifolds. and they are opiginal. but i just had them sand blasted and i painted them w/ high heat paint.
