Ok, so I live in Western Oregon, where it rains about 6 days a week. Now, according to the last owner the “wiper switch needs fiddling with” Well, in the downpour today I find wipers are dead.. Make it home, pull the switch, (seems to have a built in fuse??) I have power to the switch, seems to have power going out of the switch, one red wire, two green, each has voltage somewhere near 12. Please can anyone tell me what is the process for ruling out failure in each component in the wiper system? What usually goes? I pulled the “cap” where the wires enter the motor, seems to be a center post, and something like points where the motor switches back and forth, I have no idea what’s supposed to be in there…Is there a regular thing people replace? (I know, buy a Manuel, I’m on it, but I need wipers ASAP)
HELLPPP…
I bought that same book 1 month ago.
it has 432 pages of illustrations and how-to`s.
pay`d 5 more buck`s + shipping to norway for it.
it has 2 pages of wiper stuff.
Book will most likely come in handy, and will earn itself in time savings.

Where did you bye the book?
As you, I need to get the book to Norway, A company that will send outside the US
If you have three wires, I assume you have a two postion switch and a two speed motor. Simple way to test switch is take wires off and touch incoming hot lead to one wire going to wiper. If you have the right wires and the wiper works it is your switch. You may have only a slow speed and a slower speed wiper motor. If the switch has a fuse in it, it sounds like an aftermarket headlight switch. Are we talking original stuff, or something cobbled together? Don't know much about original, know more than I should about cobbling together. It could be worse, up here in Washington it rains 7 days a week
It sure seems like an original, although I am not sure. It is a two speed switch, I will try to jump from the hot to the greens, one at a time. Can I jump from the hot to the leads at the motor? Anyone have a diagram of that unit on the motor with the directional points set up? I have a manual coming, likely be a few weeks though.
Can I jump from the bat hot to the motor lead to see if the motor is good, or will that harm the motor?
Yea, go for it. The motor should start instantly. If you see smoke or feel heat seperate the wires. Also take the drive arms off the wiper motor to make sure they are not binding, then check the motor.
