I have a friend who is trying to figure what the mileage is for a new F-250. the truck is a Regular Cab, V-10, 5-speed, 4x4 with the 16" wheels. The rear gear is 3:73w/limited slip. the dealer is telling him an average of 16. I/he would like to know from people who have these trucks and can verify a mpg. Thanks
16 MPG average is way off. On the highway between 14 and 15 is good. Around town expect 11 to 13. Many past posts have delt with this very issue, look them up for exact mileage numbers.
16 does seem a bit high. The best I've ever gotten was about 15 and 1/2. Having the 5spd, 3.73's and only a regular cab will help somewhat. Does it really matter anyway???
thanks for the post
He has a 89 f-250 4x4 with the 351/5-speed and he has had enough of the 9-10 mpg. He is pricing a Chevy out primarily cause of the mpg that a base engine has in the 3/4.
