Buff Touch up paint ?????
I touched up about 100 rock chips and scratches (once i got going i couldn't stop) on my "Red Ranger" and from 15 feet it looks new (1996 supercab) but from 5 feet you can eally see the bumps and ridges from the touch up - My question is how can I smooth these "bumps" out without getting myself into alot of trouble with the factory paint/clearcoat or can I wet sand these and clear over small spots from a spray can from napa

Sounds like it might be worth trying on one small, inconspicuous spot, to see how it works. I'm not familiar with that napa product (rattle can clear?) but it's almost certain to leave a dry haze around anywhere it's sprayed, and if it doesn't polish well, I'd guess you'd be worse off than you are now. Try cutting about 1" off the end of a paint stick, and use it as a small sanding block. Wrap 400 grit sandpaper around it and see how that levels the bumps. Use rubbing compound, or 1200 or 1500 grit sandpaper to clean the whole area that you clear. Polish the clear according to the can directions.
You'll probably have better success if the color is solid and not metallic.

Dont Take 400 To The Hood Or You Will Have A Repaint.1000 On A Sanding Block Over The Touch Ups Rember Lots Of Water Use A Squee-gee To See When Your All Most There Then Go To 1500 And Buff Will Never Look Mint But Will Look Very Good Tust Take Your Time
