Eletronic shift on the fly

I recently ordered a f250sd with eletronic shift on the fly. Is this system reliable?Has Anyone had any problems?

Eletronic shift on the fly

My 99 F350cc was affected by a recall to replace the e-prom computer (black box that controls some functions including transfer case shifts) but mine never had a problem. Read the instructions though! I initially had a hard time getting mine to go into low range until a carefully followed the instructions in the manual. (if I recall it's shift to neutral, hold the brake down and turn the low switch then wait for ~ 5 seconds until the indicator light comes on). Changes between 2X4 high and 4X4 high range happen with no effort while driving at up to 55mph. Great system I think.

I've had mine since March (99 F-250SD Crew Cab, 4X4 SWB 5.4L)Been in and out of fwd lots, no problems to report to date. (haven't received a recall for that...yet)
