Well I have a 92 302 f150 It has an fipk kit on it and Im wondering if that is possibly causing any problems. Well The truck is throwing codes 33 ( egr Fault), 173 (H02S) rich, 327 and 328 oth to do with the egr valve. I presume that code 173 can be fixed by replacing the O2 sensor but I am totally unfimilar with the egr valve and where it is located on my truck. For the past month or so my truck has had an awful miss and terrible when its raining out so i replaced distributer cap, pulgs, wires, rotor and coil and no difference please help. Thanks Alot
The EGR valve in mounted on the upper intake plenum right behind the throttle body on the pass side. There is an electrical connector with some wires plugged into the top of it and a steel tube screwed onto the bottom that goes down and turns and runs under the upper intake where it hooks to the lower intake. Check out www.Fordfuelinjection.com for info on the codes.
A Haynes manual would go through the procedures for diagnosing the EGR system. I think the 33 was a mistype, since all the others are 3 digit codes. Also double check the codes to make sure you are counting the blinks correctly. The site linked to above is a great resource for fuel injection information.
