Looking for a decent OBDII reader. Google search came up with AutoTap, Equus, and a couple others. Trying to keep cost down to around $130. What I liked about Autotap was it gave code description that went with the DTC...the cheaper ones you need to go online to figure out what the code is.
I have the Actron CP9135 Global OBDII and it works great. It reads 1996 and newer foreign and domestic vehicles. It gives the code, description and can reset the Check Engine light. It's available at Sears for $140 I think. Here's the link to Actron's website:
mizzleman...good info. I was just at Sears yesterday but didn't see it. Is this in the auto parts area or the tools (two different bldgs for the Sears near me). thanks for the help...
If you have a PDA, I can recommend a code reader that will blow your mind. Its being reviewed by FTE right now, hopefully the article will be ready this weekend....
This unit requires a serial port equipped computer running windows, and works great!. It can monitor settings in real time, give you a virtual dashboard in real time, and can reset the check engine light. Cost was $88.00. If you have a computer to hook to it, it is a great value (and no I don't work for this company, I am just a satisfied user!).
