Fog lights

Anyone know what part number is needed from the ford dealer for the OEM fog lights to be added to a 2000 PSD Crew Cab with no fog lights fromt he factory? Can you get the proper switch for the lights so you can just pull it out to activate the fog lights?

i do not know the numbers, but for what it would cost, you would be much better off getting some good aftermarket units and putting them in the same place, in fact you will most likely will end up with better lights than the stock fords

Thats no joke. The stock foggers in stock form suck. Even with 65w 9005 silverstars in them they're only marginal. Bright as hell to oncoming traffic, but nearly worthless in fog.

And since you asked, the fog lamp kit retails for $231 and does not include the switch or the harness. Just the lights and mount brackets.

Fog lights

So what do you recommend as far as aftermarket fog lights? Can these aftermarket lights be attached to the ford factory switch that pulls out?
So what is wrong with the factory fog lights? I really prefer that location. Do the after markets mount there?

i like Hella aux lights http://catalog.com/susq/ im sure you could wire them into a factory ford switch, but do really want to go thru that hassel. you would have to replace the switch with a newer one, you would most likely have to cut off the factory plug that plugged into the old switch and then try to find a plug from a newer switch then try to figure out what wires are for the fogs. as far as the factory lights go they have no beam pattern at all they are just like a pair of flood lights that light up the area in front of the truck(i have a 2001 sd w/the fact fogs). you could mount the after markets lights where ever you want, it just depends how good a fabricator you are. one other thing to think about, to get at the factory locations for those lights you will have to take off the front bumper(which i just did a couple a weeks ago and is not fun) good luck

I installed the PIAA fog/driving combo into the slots in the bumber. I had to fab the mounting hardware but love the performance.

What is the size of the factory lights? It looks like about 3" square, but not sure. I'm looking to put some aftermarket ones in, but want them to look real similar to the factory ones.
Thanks.
