yo i got coolant leaking into the cab whenever i drive my truck its coming from the heater core area and i think thats what it is, but about 3 years ago i pulled the heater core because it was leaking and it was fine and didint seem to be leaking. so i reinstalled it put some radiator stop leak in and the problem went away. but know its come back and i nearly overheated becuase of it. i just want to make sure its the heater thats leaking befor i tear stuff up. also whenever i turn on the heater my windshield fogs up real bad any connection?
any connection between a) turning on the heater b) windshield fogging up real bad?
yes.
have you determined if the leak is in the heater and not in a connector or hose? don't know about the other guys, but if you can't SEE the leak, it's probably in the core (hence, the rapid evaporation from a heated core and equally rapid condensation on a cooler windshield.
FER, The Heater core is pretty simple to change in the older trucks. If ya got the green stuff on the floor, that is a pretty good sign the old one is shot.
IMHO You should never put the stop leak type product in your vehicle. To stop a leak it has to gum up something, and the older systems seem to gum up on their own well enough.
