engine harness

Whe removing the engine from a 94 302 f150, is there any way to unplug the harness and leave the wires on the engine instead of disconnecting every sending unit and fuel injector? (would prefer the solution doesn't involve a hack saw )

Thanks,
Jason

I'm not terribly familiar with the harnesses on those years, but I think there is a plug (or plugs) on the drivers side fender that you can disconnect. It runs between the main harness and the harness on the engine, as far as I know. Definitely don't hacksaw the wires, that's just asking for trouble later.

Does this come apart? It is on the drivers side of the engine compartment, but it doesn't want to come apart easily. Before I go trying to pry it apart I want to verify that it can.

Thanks

That's the one I was thinking about. It should come apart, although I'm not sure how. I know those things can get pretty stuck, so maybe try some wd-40 on it and a lot of side to side wiggling, all while pulling on it. And be careful, you could hurt yourself when it finally decides to let go (I speak from busted knuckle experience ).

As a matter of fact it is a 10mm socket size. (I just unplugged mine today!) Then all you should have left is your ground wire.
