installing power locks in f150

howdy, im looking to install power locks in my truck that came stock without them. i tried to remove the panel to look for myself but didn't get very far becuase lack of tools. anyway i was wondering if anyone knew if the door frame will hold ford actuators or if i will have to rig it somehow, and if the wiring is already there or do they use different wire harness for various option packages. im going to pull the panel tomorrow but thought i would go ahead and get some advice first. thanks.

aggie what year is your truck?
I'm sure the actuators will fit without a problem but I'm not sure if the wiring is there or not. What would you use for lock switches and where would you put them? Or are you replacing the door panels too?

I have a 97 and I installed keyless entry with little problem. The actuator is very small and the only thing you need to worry about mounting it so that the push rod doesn't bind against the frame. I didn't have existing wiring, so I ran my own.

I know someone who found a wrecked truck with good doors. He switched the entire doors out complete with power windows and locks. He gave the junkyard his doors in return plus $50. I do not know what all kind of wiring he had to do. I know this is not what you want to do but I just thought I would throw it out.

I used some universal ones that came with my CrimeGuard alarm system. Got them from Crutchfield.
