Please, oh please don't call it noss. Call it juice, laughing gas, nitrous, or whatever. Nos is a brand name. I know, I know, its just a pet peeve but I used to race and I hear all these ricer boys running around talking about "nos" this and "nos" that after the fast and the furious.
And if I hear one more young punk ask me how to double shift.....sigh, they look at me funny when I try to explain that was done to speed shift before synchoed gearing. Ninnies.
i like this thread....hehe, reminds me of a kindergarden version of pirate. hahaha, DOULBE SHIFT!!! WTF!!!, why the hell would you double shift a f'ing ricer!!!! the blew me away in the movie. anyway........capable wheeler? umm, buy a 1985 toyota pickup and put a 6" lift on it and 36 tsl's i promise you it will take you just about anywhere. oh ya.....weld the front and rear...thats what im going ot do.
Idio, this is completely unrelated to anything in this thread but since we're already sliding downhill . . . did you see this on ebay? Made me think of you and your scrap heap: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=2470309736
hehe. I knew I'd stir something up with the 'noss'. actually I prefer to call it 'juice' myself but to each is own..
btw, there is actually a reason why ricers have to double clutch. It has nothing to do with the tranny itself. When you double clutch a honda, you do that so you can punch the gas in between gears you can keep the rpms up so the secondary VTEC cam stays open, thus keeping it in the powerband. It is actually good for a tenth or 2 on the strip. Being that your average honda will run a 1/4 mi in about 19 seconds, you need all you can get
Don't listen to Clayton. You getting mad for no reason. It's like having a serious argument or debate about politics with a 6 year old kid. You can't reason with the guy and he's only going to make you throw your computer on the floor and bust a vein in your forehead.
31" all terrains with no lift will out mud a 6" lift with 39's or 44's????? And you actually waste your time arguing with this guy. Come one man, you've got better things to do than that, i'm sure.
Pehaps some of you should read what I wrote a little more closely. I did not say a stock truck with 31s will out wheel a hotrodded truck with 44s. I did state though that I had never been stuck because my tires were too small and I suggested to the creator of this thread that he need not buy huge tires to make his rig more capible off road. I also listed some drawbacks to lifts and huge tires (poor center of gravity, broken axles, ect.) I don' know why this stirs up so much emotion. Perhaps some of you (not all) are upset because you spent thousands of dollars on lifts, tires and gears and you are not much better off than someone else who didn't. But hey, big tires look cool.
Another thing. I just recently lifted my truck and tossed on 33's simply because i was very new to the lift and tire selection "thing" and wasn't really sure what would fit without smashing my fenders and such, seeing it IS a new truck. But now I know I can go bigger and will once these wear out.
These 33's have gotten me through some really deep stuff, however I HAVE gotten stuck before due to lack of clearence of my rear differential and having it bottom out on a mound of solid mud, when this happens, both my tires lose traction and I just sit and spin both rears while sitting on my differential case. Had I been running 35's or larger this would of not happened.
There is no substitute for ground clearence when offroading. That's why Swamp Buggies rule down here in Fla. with a ground to axle clearence of over 5 feet, they don't EVER get stuck, EVER!!
Oh, and why is "center of gravity" important when mudding??? (according to Cayton anyway), duh.
Perhaps some of you (not all) are upset because you spent thousands of dollars on lifts, tires and gears and you are not much better off than someone else who didn't.

Clayton,
I think this thread has strayed from the subject a bit.
But I got to tell you that although the author of this thread does not need a lift kit for what he intends to use his truck for, you are most certainly wrong regarding lift kits and mud bogging.
I have a 2 wheel drive 4.2 V6 truck with a locking rear and 7.5" lift. I off road with all 4X4 guys, many of them not lifted. ok? got the scenerio yet?
Anyway, my truck, in many many cases, has got through mud bogs with ease whereas my friends 4x4's got stuck because lack of clearance.
Once your frame bottoms out, it doesn't matter if you have 8 wheel drive, you have NO traction because you lose all the weight on your tires and you just sit there on your frame stuck.
Then, my 4.2 V6 2x4 has to pull my friends 4x4's out of the mud...on many many occassions. And my friends 4x4's all have big block V8's.
I am also inexperience somewhat at off roading so I can't owe my 'not getting stuck' to that.
I don't get stuck like they do because MY FRAME STAYS OFF THE BOTTOM OF THE MUD, AND THEIRS DO NOT.
They get very embarassed that my puny automatic supercab 4.2 V6 2X4 beats their trucks mudding simply because I installed a 7.5" Fabtech Lift Kit with 33" Super Swampers. That's the ONLY reason I don't get stuck. I have not skill, so it's certainly NOT that.
If your going to do alot of mudding for fun and you don't want to spend your days getting stuck, then a lift kit and big tires are an absolute MUST.
Perhaps you've never seen real mud before or haven't really been mudding before.
I never like to insult anyone because i'm normally a very nice guy, but honestly, you really don't know what your talking about. Sorry.
Clayton has some good points. You guys really need to start paying more attention. That's it . . . I'm wheeling the Camry this weekend. My low center of gravity should help at the pit. Cool thing, which I never would have thought about until reading this riveting novel of a thread, is because the Camry doesn't have those obnoxious "oversized" tires I won't have to worry about breaking an axle. Sure, it won't look as cool out there as all those posers with 44's but it's a sleeper . . . that's the whole idea. I'm keeping my 2 liter covered up too and removing the "2.0 SOHC" tags (okay, I may even pull off my giant aluminum wing). Nobody will suspect the Cam. I can even use the money I saved from NOT buying those stupid tires to add noss.
Ho, Pro, when you guys are stuck in the mud and you see me fly by laughing my **** off at you throw me a tow strap and I'll give you a hand. Fishy may be able to pull through the shallow mess due to his slightly smaller 39's (I could have just called them 40's but why make him look stupid for buying a big tire?) but if he needs a hand I'll be there. Somebody's got to teach these boys a lesson. Then we can spray paint over the "To" and "ta" on my rig so it'll just say "Yo" . . . bust open a case of Miller High Life and sing around the campfire while I tell you the tales of the little ricer that could. Wasting your money on lifts and tires . . . ha! What are you guys thinking? What's that you say? You DIDN'T pay for your lifts? You built those yourself? Well all the more reason they won't work in the mud!
edit: One thing Clayton didn't cover though, do you think I'm going to have to remove my ground effects and underbody neon? He didn't cover these in his post and I'm just not sure now. Somehow I think they give my heap too much of an "aggressive" look. Let me know what 'yall think. Keep it real yo.

Ivan, your too funny man. Clayton, your in the wrong forum man. You have no business posting in the Off Road forum. Go find someplace else to post ok? This forum consists mainly of people who do alot of off-roading and run large tires with lift kits. And you come in here talking trash about big tires and lift kits. Your in the wrong forum buddy. Please leave!!!
C'mon Tom, everyone is welcome here. If he's trouncing people offroad and has advice to give then listen up! This is, afterall, the guy who has never been stuck because his tires are too small.
I am curious though why the guy that believes in no lift and little tires is looking at putting quarter eliptical springs on his Bronco. I'm sure he's going to use them to keep it stock height and buy the springs only for a smooth ride. Would suck to spend the $$ to do that and then get passed by me in the Cam. Just something to keep in mind.

look man...i am not here to rag on you and i am sure these other guys are just teasing you, but think about what you said! it is pure physics! I did spend $600 on my lift and another $900 on my tires but I am damned proud of them. We want you to stick around b/c more the merrier but you gotta know what you are talking about before you go bashing ppl (esp one of my best friends!) It makes me wonder if you have ever really seen true mud before! I am tlaking about the stuff that comes up to my hood (look in my gallery for references) cause 31" boggers would look at a hole like that and blow up! No he does not need huge 44" tires to be more capable off-road....hell i had a nice set of 31's that I wheeled the hell outa of and did damn good with but there is no comparison to my 39.5's! Not to mention my front is welded I have not broken and axle, transfer case (although close and trying to ), or tranny! maybe I'm not wheelin hard enough? or maybe I know what I am doing and I don't mind pulling a cable every now and then! OK i know this is getting long so i will shutup, but that is where i stand!

BTW....this is the internet, if anyone is getting ****ed it is you
