Question for you. I am restoring my '74 F-250, and need to replace my floor pans. The problem spots are right near the door edges and after looking at the pictures of the replacement fllor pans in NPD and LMC Truck, I'm not sure if the replacements will cover that far over, has anyone ordered these, and will they cover it? Thanks.
Elvis,
If the floor pan is just rusted out around the door sill, this should just be a straight flat section of sheet metal. Do you plan on replacing the whole pan?
It is not very easy to remove the whole pan due to spot welds and structural steel that supports the pan. I would reccommend just cutting and patching the small area you describe.
Give me some details, and I'll fill you in on the nitty gritty of this repair.

KingFisher,
I'm not too sure of all of the specifics, as the truck is in Spokane, and I am in western Washington in the Navy. I have to replace most of the pan due to rust in the foot area, so I was planning to get the replacement parts from National Parts Depot, but I wasn't sure how much it covers. I think I may put the pans in, and then patch over to the sills if it still needs it. Thanks for the help.
I just finished putting a passenger side floorpan in my 78 F150. I can't stress enough that the Motorhaven part was definitely the way to go. The sheetmetal itself is enough to cover under the kickplate. The fun part was welding to the cab mount. I'm glad that project is over!
