2 Supercharge or not 2 Supercharge

Just got word from my Ford rep on my build date. I ordered an F250 SC 4x4 5.4 manual w/4.10LS. I have saved up enough nickels to really do it up. The fastest way to do this is a supercharger. I have been thinking about one from Vortech- it supplies between 6-7# of boost. The Vortech rep. said this should give me about 80hp and he said that there is no need change anything else, ie; computer, ignition.... I plan on having this truck for some time. By putting a supercharger on it will this adversly affect the motor at 90,000 miles and beyond? Does anyone have any experience with these or have had a friend with one. Youre input would be appreciated.

I don't want to "burst your bubble" because running the supercharger would be a fun thing to do for most of us "gearheads" but...it would be much cheaper in the long run to have ordered the V-10. The V-10 will not require premium fuel like the supercharger will, the V-10 can still have an extended warranty at 90,000 miles if you buy the warranty, and I doubt if you can run the supercharger 90,000 miles without a rebuild. But on the other hand if we weren't gearheads we'd all be driving Volvo station wagons with stock everything instead of modified pickups! Have fun, Deen
