Have you asked for the deposit back yet?
Dealerships are not required to take a deposit in the first place.. (my dealer didn't). Some dealers take a deposit because a. they want folks to prove they are serious about purchasing the truck from this dealership.. and b. to help insure they don't get stuck with a vehicle that will be hard to sell..

You've been very patient with the dealership, and it appears that they are not capable (lack allotment) to get the truck you ordered, whereas other ford dealerships can..
Also, the SuperDutys are a very high demand item and the dealership would have NO problem selling this truck off the lot, or using it in a dealer trade..

Once you've made the decision to NOT purchase the truck from this dealerhip, the start to pursue your deposit back.

I wouldn't start off by 'threatening' the dealership or getting loud. Instead, remain professional and calm, and explain your situation and that you feel that they should refund your deposit..
If they refuse, then, try the Ford customer service number to explain your deposit situation.
Remember, this dealership represents FoMoCo. You don't believe this dealership is a good representative of FoMoCo, and that you'd rather work with a different Ford dealership. Your looking to have FoMoCo pressure the dealership to get your deposit back in an effort to keep you positive toward Ford.

Its worth a try.

WE have two chances of getting our refunds back, fat and slim. You might want to call the ford customer service number which is on the ford websight. They can tell you if your truck order has been picked up for production. You need your order number and the truck body style number. If they say your order has not been scheduled, then you really don't know when or if your truck will be built this year. I really don't think your dealer has any idea when your truck is getting built the first info. he will get is a vin number and a build date. If he does not have a number, he knows nada. Hello 2000 sprduty,
Call the 800 number offered on the ford website and "watch" the progress of your truck being built. They can also give you the vin number and give you a date the truck will finished and then delivered. They can give you updates on what inspection they are on and you might even get your truck earlier than the dealer has said since he might be hedging the date incase of delays. Congratulations! I have another update: I was told build week was this week,ETA to dealer week of june 5th,my salesman called me today,guess what? the TRUCK is in and picking it up tomorrow ya hoo.2wks early?

I also have a build date of 6-12 so it looks like I will be getting a 2000 too!

 

I ordered my truck on April 24th, and called Ford Motor Company today, and they told me it was still unscheduled. He also told me they update the profiles every week, and told me to call back on Thursday (June 1). That is when the next update is on my truck, and he said there is a good chance that there will be a build date. I hope the representitive was right, I really want my truck. There might be a difference in the waiting period for me, because I am from Niagara Falls, CANADA, but the truck is still built in the USA in Kentucy. I've got my fingers crossed for thursday, and I will be sure to let you guys know.

Hopefully: '00 4X2, crewcab, diesel, lariet, two-tone, ALL THE GOODIES possible!

 

I ordered on 4/2/00 a 250sd sc 2x4 v10 larit and just received word it will be in around 6/19/00. Just hang in.don

 

Could (long) wait finally be nearing an end? Ordered 2000 Super Duty 2-7-00. Dealer today said truck ``has been sheduled for build,'' but has no other info at this time. Almost gave up hope that this beast -- XLT Supercab V-10, 4X4 in Dark Toreador Red Metallic -- would ever arrive. Of course, it has yet to, but at least there's hope now. Just a line to say that, after looking over every make & model full-size pickup for about three months, and test driving them all, nothing comes close to the F-250, in my mind. Looking forward to driving it, and pulling camper this summer. Sorry for the long post, but, you know how it is -- a guy gets a bit excited when he finds out his love is on the way home. And thanks for all the good info on this site. I'll post progress -- hopefully there will be some more.

You can call the ford customer assistance hotline, and get the build date for your 250. The number is on the official ford website. Good luck, and I hope we all get 2000 trucks!

Hey Eilyns,

Only 26 weeks after placing the order I've finally received a delivery date. Another 3 months!!! How about that! From December 8th, 1999 until Augst 13th, 2000. Yep I'm getting my brand new 2000 ford Truck at the end of the year 2000. I think I'll order another vehicle from Ford real soon (Heavy sarcasm here). I'm afraid the 13 thing is an omen. It ain't gonna happen.
Anyway, I'll let you all know what happens.

I ordered my F250 SC, LB, 4:10 LS, 5.4L, 4X4 on 4-29-00 and it came in yesterday, 6-8-00. I had been told it might be August before it got here, but now it's here.

 

Cool! I ordered the F250 XLT Crew Cab LWB 4x4. I think the 5.4 is where the hold-up is at. Maybe there is hope for mine!! I'm still not too happy about the length of the wait. Of course, if it does come in early, all I have to worry about is paying for the thing.

 

Well I finally have a build date, and the have not dropped it yet. The build date is tentatively the week of June 26-July 3. They told me that I should call back during that week, and then they will give me an estimated time of delivery, which I hear is about 2 weeks after it is built. Well I ordered it on April 24, and now 2 months later it's being built!! Seems like a long wait, but I see others have been waiting longer! Still can't wait to get it tho!!
