superduty vs. f150
The SuperDuty also sits higher than the F150. (the 4x2 SuperDuty is about the same height as the 4x4 F150. The 4x4 SuperDuty is higher yet.
When not towing, the F150 has a better stopping distance than the F250, and is slightly more nimble.. (its the weight)..
When towing, the F250 is much better..
In collisions with fixed barrier objects, (bridges /walls etc), I bet they'd be similar. I doubt there'd be much intrusion into the passenger space, but the stiffer frames won't absorb as much energy as the unibody Tarus's and the like.
I was also choosing between an F150 and F250 SuperDuty. I went with the Superduty, and 10,000 miles later I still believe I went with the right truck..
SuperDuty:
- bigger exterior, higher, taller, wider, longer.
- better looking exterior (my opinion)
- Bigger interior than f150.
- I could get the 5.4L and 5sp manual, (couldn't do that with the F150).
Price wise, the F250 is only about $700 to $1000 more than a similarly equiped F150.
Either way, Ford has a great line of trucks to choose from..
I love the thing.
If your looking to turn some heads then go Superduty.
If your gonna worry about miles per gallon go F-150.
Of course there is the Light duty F-250 but my sister has one of those! Just kidding.
Overall you could go either way and be real happy.
If you go Superduty F-250 go with either powerstroke if you need it, but if not I'd recommend going with the new 260 hp V-8 instead of the V-10.(especially if you would be thinking of putting after market exhaust on it, but that's another story)
good luck
