I would like to know what is the differance in the new 2001 ford superduty from the 2000? I read on the ford website that in 2002 the superduty is going to get a facial upgrade as well as a dash upgrade! If anybody has any more information please let me know. I want to trade my 99 f150 lariat 4x2 for a new superduty but might wait if upgrade to 2002 is going to be significant.
Just picked up my 2001, I had looked at several 2000's before ordering. There are new seat's and the pattern on them is different. I think they are an upgrade from the 2000. There is standard 4-wheel abs and standard front fog lights which look sharp. Also the body side moldings are the same color as the paint on the XLT, I don't like that as well as the ones with the chrome strip on the 2000's and a six disc cd changer is available at a reasonable price, but I opted against it because a single cd/am-fm/tape player is standard and I had good luck with the one in my 98 Explorer. I had heard through the rumor mill that a major change in the Super Duty wasn't happening until 2003, why change something that is selling like this truck is?

I was told by a local Ford dealer that the dash upgrade will resemble the dash on the 2001 Explorers. They have the white background on the speedometer, tach, etc...I looked at one on the lot, and did NOT think it would asthetically work in a SuperDuty...too yuppyish. Just my opinion.
I just ordered my new 2001 lariat 4x4 v10, and my dealer told me that the ONLY mirriors available for 2001 is the trailer tow mirriors, does anyone know if this is true? If it is, does anyone know if the regular mirrors from a 2000 will replace the trailer ones on my 2001.(I really dont want the Giant mirrors.)
I got my 2001 F350 with the telescopic trailer "elephant ear" mirrors.. guess I missed it when I ordered everything else.. Anyway, I switched them out with the smaller mirrors from a 99 F250, and they are a perfect match.. Also, going back to the difference between the 00 and 01.. in the 00, on the lower part of the dash, below the power point, there is an ash tray, on the 01, its not an ash tray, its some sort of hook.. what the heck is that for???
I was real close to buying a 2000. It had the standard mirrors but I wanted TT mirrors. The dealer said, no problem, he'd switch them with the TT mirrors from another truck on the lot. He said the mounts are the same and there is only one wire. This switch should work in reverse for you!!

The trailer tow mirrors are worth every bit if you tow
cant belive the difference
towed same trailer with 99 regular mirrors could never get them right
towed with 00PSD with TT mirrors had to pull them out half way I could see every thing
One thing I have noticed with the TT mirrors Is that you have to use the spot mirrors the big glass hides cars if the blind spot
there is alot of reg mirrors out there for sale
also a lot of people looking for TT mirrors
my advice get them then sell them and buy the regular mirrors
Dash hook. I was hopeing it was a bottle opener, it ain't. Now that everything is plastic, they should build one in that looks like something different. Oh yeah, we can't do that any more can we?
GV in CT - 2k 444CI Diesel 4X4 that wants the Gail Banks 90HP upgrade. Can't imagine how the automatic would hold up with 340HP if Ford de-tunes from 275 to 250HP for it. Anyone tried the Banks stuff?
