i have a 76 1/2 ton with a 203 transfer case that's shot and some other problems, but it's still drivable. i can get a '76 3/4 ton with shot engine, but good chassis. would i be better off using parts from the 3/4 ton (axle parts, transfer case, etc.) and making the 1/2 ton work better..or would it work better to simply swap my body and motor to the '76 3/4 ton chassis? i can make both work and i know there's no definite answer, but what would you all do? i need opinions or advice
is the 3/4 ton more desirable?
p.s. i just use my truck for driving and some farmwork whenever it's needed.
itd be easier to take the bodies off, sawp the motor to the 3/4 ton, then slap the body on the 3/4 ton, only thing is the rear cab mounts and the bed mounts will be narrower on the 3/4 ton, so youl have to drill holes or fab sumthing

The bodies are the same. The 3/4 frame is narrower in the back, so the mount holes in rear cab and box are closer together. So you will have to drill new holes to line up with the narrower 3/4 frame.
thanks again. i've got a few old 3/4 tons in my sites, now i just have to find the one i want. is there any easy way to tell a dana 44 hd from a dana 60?
