Aftermarket bumper
I noticed a truck(99 or 00 250) the other day which a had a well built metal brushguard. The unit was a bumper/brushguard combination which also incorporated a receiver type hitch in the middle. It was made out of heavy gauge steel and steel diamond plate. The bottom of the bumper alao had relieved areas onthe sides which may have been done to improve entry angle on hills. The bumper had a sticker on it which read "Ranch Hand" made in ???? Texas. There was a phone number and I will call them to see how much it costs. I was curious to see if anybody has heard of it and how much did it or will it cost you.

Aftermarket bumper
Ranchhand bumpers are as tough as they look and rated to tow up to 20,000 pounds (2,500 tounge weight). The bumper for my 2000 F-350 4x4 psd weighs 115 pounds and bolts directly onto the frame. I bought the bumper direct from ranchhand which is located in Boerne, TX (about 30 miles west of San Antonio) for $239. A ranchhand distributer will probably mark up the price 30-100 bucks and the dealers will mark up the price a couple hundred dollars. You can put the ball directly on the bumper or buy a ranchhand 'reciever housing' (best word I can think of) that can user a reciever. Look at the their web-site for more details or ask me if you have any more questions.
