Has anyone done any reasearch on the hp increases/ tubing gauge/ flange thickness. Has anyone heard of Mesa Headers, my fatherinlaw has some and they are the best set of headers I has seen in a long time. I believe they starting to make some for the v10.
As of right now, I think Borla and Banks are the only companys making headers. I don't know the exact specs of each but the HP/TQ numbers look good. A complete Banks kit, called the Power Pack includes a K&N type air filter, a new larger air box, headers, crossover pipe and cat-back exhaust system. It will set you back $1500. You can get the parts seperate from Banks also. Borla sells their products seperately. The Borla headers put out 30hp, 35tq. Their cat-back systems add 20hp, 25tq. So, in total, Borla is close to the Banks #'s. A complete Borla setup would run about $950.
Hey V-10Man have you looked up Mesaheaders.com. Im not sure if they have come through with the headers yet, but the headers that I have seen them produce are pretty sweet. Take a look at the sight and tell me what ya think!
I installed the Banks PowerPack, I havn't been back to the dyno yet though.
The flange on these is 1/2" Stainless Steel. Check out some of my problems envountered when Banks sent a 1999 kit for my 2000 truck at: http://ic.net/~wawii/banks/
As far as i know Mesa Headers is on the verge of putting put the V-10 headers. They look to be real quality. 1/2" flange and the best thing no gasket.
Good company with good customer service. Give them a call they'll tell you about the expected date.
Also I spoke with JBA in San Diego, They are coming out with the headers for the V-10 this month some time, or so they say. As far as Ford goes JBA seems to know their stuff.
Price for the MEsa Headers is gonna be around 650.00
I think I'll pay that before I go out and pay 1016.00 for the BANK'S
I'm not sure about JBA'S.
