I've tried searching through the forums, but still can't find anything to pin point the problem. I have a late 99 F250 PSD auto 4x4 with 115k miles on it. A week ago everytime I put in reverse in the morning, there's a loud banging/clicking noise around the front of the tranny. I suspect something is wrong with torque converter, bearings, loose pin...?? Although the problem disappears after a short drive and having to back out from a parking space.
I took the truck to AAMCO couple days ago and had pulled a code, 1P1746C - EPC solenoid open, check possible short- I have Bank's trans command on the truck, so could it be the cause? Just need some advise and get an idea of how jacked up my truck is!
Trans oil is contaminated, although, still pink. I bought this truck used at 100k, unfortunately I do not know its history.
