ford factory shortblock

Planning a 302 build, trying to decide between rebuilding an old block or just buying a factory 302 shortblock. I understand the pros of a seasoned block. A complete factory shortblock with warranty also sounds good, and the price is right. Has anyone used Ford's crate shortblock? Any points good or bad?

Well if it was me , I'd go with the factory short block. Of course I'm sure it's more money.

Yeah, roller would awesome. 95F150, the factory shortblock is only about 1200 bucks. For a pre assembled roller block that doesn't sound too bad. Now, if I can only find some cheap AFR heads...

Man if it was my cash I'd go with the factory assembled short block. You will get many happy miles with that. Yeah AFR heads would be nice but if you get a little torque happy with a header bolt or any bolt for that matter it could turn bad real quick. Iron heads are a lot more user friendly. GT 40 irons would be great
