Just got back from getting my Line X today. Did a great job and I'm really glad I had it done. I've had drop-ins before and once a year removed it, sanded and primed the rust spots, and reinstalled it. That got old after a few times, and the liner eventually got so warped from sitting in the sun there was more stuff getting under it and damaging the bed even further.
So they spray-ins got my vote, and I chose Line X over Rhino due to the national warrantee (I move every few years) and my personal preference of the finish, durability, and fade resistance. Plus a $20 online coupon took a little of the $$$ sting out.
I have a drop in right now that the dealer threw in with the deal. After reading a lot of the posts about spray on liners, I think I might be going to the spray on. How much are we talking for the Line x? I have a 6.5 ft bed.
The dealer was going to give me his"discounted" price since he sends about 10 trucks a week. Well the price was $550!!!! I found out which LineX dealer they used and walked in and they said $405 and directed me to an internet coupon for $20. So I got it for $385. Tehy gave me $20 off coupons for any one I sent in. I sent three people in for $60 so my liner cost me about $320. Quite a deal when you consider the gurantee. Plus I got a nifty bottle opener/key chain and a pretty yellow Linex Ber cozy! Man life is sweet. Oh yeah, I also drive the coolest, best truck in the world. I have had it since November and I swear I love more every time I drive it. I really hate that some of the folks are having some trouble but mine has been perfect after 5000 miles. And I couldn'e be happier with the bed liner. LineX is like our tryucks....there are others out there but IMO they are the best product out there.
Fordguy...Mine (6.5' flareside bed) was $389 and w/ the $20 coupon dropped to $369. They're still making a hefty profit, but I'm satisfied also. You could sell your dealer-provided drop-in to help offset the cost of the Line X.
I've had Rhino (more rubbery) and Line-x (more rigid) and I had great results from both. I liked the "stick 'em" better on the Rhino and the toughness better on the Line-x. I've recently come across a product that seems to be in the middle. I was checking it out at a trade show and talked to a few guys that had the ArmorThane put on. I was impressed and I'm going to have this done to my truck. The company that does the application in my location is very respected in the area for quality, so I tend to trust their experience with this product. They claim they have been applying this before the other products were around and swear by it. It also comes in endless colors. Now there's a way to make your truck even more unique! I'm going to see if I can get a white liner sprayed on my white truck which should give more of a stock look yet give me the protection and non-slip surface I liked from the other two previous products. I'll let you know how this turns out for me. You can go to their site for more info at www.armorthane.com and no...I'm not a dealer either, just thought you guys might like something a bit different.
Oh....one more thing. It's $300 for any size truck!
Wow that is so strange that the price varies so much from region to region. I paid 349 plus tax, that was with the $20 coupon. In Dallas my son paid $320, and his had a "bowtie" (chevy logo), laid at the same price. Here they wanted an additional $200, for any custom logo?
The shop I did use was extremely professional, and they did it in less than an hour. That included removing all the bed bolts, bed extender brackets, tailgate bolts, all of which were reinstalled after it was sprayed in. Three guys did it in less than 45 min. Of course the tailgate was done in a sealed chamber, separate from the truck. Then the truck is backed into the chamber, and the entire front half of the truck is sealed off from the back. A complete floor to ceiling curtain liner separates the two halfs of the truck. Meaning they only have to mask off the back half. That alone must have saved them 45 min.!
The line-x people I used must have not had a curtain as the front half of my truck now feels like sandpaper? Any ideas of how to get it off???
I would start by taking it back to them. They may use acetone. If they don't take care of it, then try a clay bar and follow up with a good coat of wax. Personally I prefer Zaino Brothers instead of wax, but it's rather pricey. Luckily I have some left over from my Corvette.

I'd take it back to them and have them look at it before you do anything. Once you try to take it off yourself and if that doesn't work then you might have a tough time getting them to try to fix it.
Im getting mine sprayed red with rhino liner and then adding in a set of flames to the bed for a 3d look. Not real thick since I dont want to to be ripped to shreds. Dealer is spraying it free of charge tommorow when it comes in from Dallas. Cant wait
