'97 F150 Help..please!

I just had my truck lowered and the day after i got it back it started acting strange. When you start it the ABS light flashes very quickly and it will not go into gear. Anybody have any ideas what my problem is? Thanks

Hey.
When you say your truck wont go into gear. Does that mean the gearshift lever wont move, or the truck just wont move when put into gear? As for the engine codes, you will need a scan tool, or code reader to get them. Most parts places will check the engine codes for free now. Do you have brake lights?

I would look for a blown fuse for the stoplight, or brakelights.
Take a look and let us know.

No blown fuses. I checked the pedal switch. No voltage to the switch. If there is a ABS fault would it keep you from getting voltage at the switch?

An ABS Fault will not cause no voltage to the brake light switch. When your truck was lowered, was any welding done?

When checking for voltage, do you use a testlight, or a multi-meter? Racerguy fishes these waters, maybe he will grace us with his vast expearence on such dilemma. Da Da, Da Da, DADADA,

aww c'mon bosshoss I dont wanna answer all the questions
You're good...you can do it
lol

VolFan you should have power on the light green/red wire going to the brakelight switch at all times. The power goes to the switch right from fuse 13 in the fuse box under the dash.
I've seen a couple that had a broken wire right near the connector to the brakelight switch.
The same fuse also supplies power to the ABS module which could possibly explain the flashing light.

No power to brake light switch, no power to release the shifter lockout.

just a note, if you have this happen to you on a boat dock,[ i'm not admitting to it happening to me ] you can turn the key to the unlock position , shift in to nuetral, than start the engine, and put into drive , leaving lots of angry guys behind wondering why it took so long for you to get out of boat ramp. its just something to remember

racerguy & ixman1 , you should the thread called buyer beware in GC...

I read that. It was a pretty interesting read
I think that bike dealer may as well find something else to do for a living cuz he isn't going to be selling many bikes anymore.

You might also have a bad MFS. Thats a multi function switch, or better known as the turn signal, wiper, high beam control switch. By chance does your emergancy flashers work, and all your turn signals?
