need help with 97 f150

i have 97 f150 smallv8 it has started dying when i first put it in gear and at lights. dont know what to check

I have a 97' F-150 4.6. I encountered the same problem. First I cleaned the butterflyin the TB. then i cleaned the IAC. This is good place to start if the truck runs good other than when you try to stop with it in gear. The IAC is notorious for this problem.

You will want to post your question in the tech forums since this one is used for introductions. To reach those who know just click on the Forums tab at the upper left and scroll over the list. The 97-03 forum is the one you want. If it's not throwing a code it might be the IAC.
