A note to you guys that change your own oil, replace the stupid drain plug washer. I had a slow drip even after tightening it to spec. Went to Ford and got a $1.40 washer... problem solved! It was a ball plugging the hole with one hand and installing the plug with the other. Glad my dexterity is intact... lost only 1/2 a quart! You veterans probably know this already. Oh well, live and learn! Neil
A Fumoto valve is a small brass valve. You replace the pan drain plug with it. See it at http://www.fumotovalve.com/. You can put a piece of tubing on it when you go to drain your oil and drain directly into gallon jugs and never spill a drop.
Thanks for the info on the valve. We have a valve something like that on our grader at work. It is -3 here this am, so I won't change oil right yet, and that will give me some time to look locally for a valve, maybe even Fumoto.
And you'll be one very happy camper, once you've converted over to it. I've been also using them on my cars for over 25 years.......It makes it so much easier.
