WooHoo!!!
I am gonna get flamed for this, but at least the engine is painted Ford blue! Anyway, I finally got the old 75 CJ5 fired up today. I just had to share! Here are some pics and a short movie....we didnt get a whole lot done after it fired up...the homebrew came out.
Rigged up starter switch:
Fuel lines hooked up (I added a small inline filter) and belt on:
Prospective fuel cell :
And what we have all been waiting for........a movie of it running!!
There is no sound, but try to imagine a 6cyl that spits out exhaust right at the manifold! It was like music to my ears!!
(only 159K BTW.....it's a crappy movie....taken using my camera)

everyone here is all about anything 4wd, it just so happens that we like ford 4wds better than the rest. hell, look at me, i just bought a scout. its going to have a full ford drivetrain in a few months. im sure everyone will wanna hear about that.....even though its a scout

Nope......the suit is form fitted!

I sprayed it with phosphoric acid to get rid of the rust:
Most of it is just surface rust, but it is going to need a new firewall:
