Do you really think Ford would release those numbers? Go to Dieselstop.com and read the same reports I read.

NO I do not think Ford would release the numbers, you made the statement.
I am looking for real numbers, you wrote "Seems it took out quite a few motors as a result"....what are the actual numbers? Is a few 10 or 30 or 50?

Luke as always you are very wise in your writing…I should be so wise.
What you say works both ways for Purpplewg and me.

Let me explain, and this goes to all in the 6.0 forum.

This engine has given, some of us problems. In our constant desire to understand what is happening with our trucks, we are thirsting for any information. Information that is not hearsay, or estimates on anyone’s part. My desire to have real numbers is predicated on the fact; Ford is not helping with these numbers at all, and I want facts.

When someone and that includes me, makes a statement about “how many” we need to qualify it. Perceptions…everyone thinks this is a bad engine, is it or are the numbers less than what we think? Are only the few with problems reporting here. Yes there is other sites that show problems, but what are the REAL numbers…..I know, I know “that has been asked before.”

As we, all know there are thousands out there with no problems. I can post that because some estimates here in FTE have put 6.0’s sold over 150K. Where are those folks reporting no problems? IMO there has been more than that sold. Human nature is to bitch louder with problems than if everything is OK.
I want to know how many of these engines are running around!!!

That is why when any of us make a statement we need to know how we came about “that” statement. What source, and is it verifiable

Sorry, I should have worded it differently. You are right it is sometimes hard to interpret tone in emails. I will try to be a kinder, gentler person, at least in how I write responses

I have owned a 2002 7.3 (30.000 miles) and now own a 2004 6.0 (500 miles) power wise I love the 6.0 (13.3 mpg), fuel wise the 7.3 (16 to 18mpg). With time the 6.0 will improve on mpg.

Hay there STROKE"IN if no one has WELCOME to FTE, a great place to hang out and meet Ford nuts. And I use that term loosely If it is the second time….well then enjoy.

Reads as thought you are happy with your truck, many of us are.

well, happy to report my 6 is still running strong as ever, and i have never had the power, or milage fluctuations some report. i am now averaging 17.2mpg over 4 tanks, and i drive it like i stole it every day.....3k miles a month, just hit 19k today.

truck build date 5/03 engine build date, 5-4-2003, the day supposedly that c95's were being used at all assembly plants.....based on conjecture however, i have no way to know if that is true. never had ANY oil level rise problems...also, never heard of injector pump probs, only injector o-ring probs....was that a mis-type on your part??? or new info?

Well Mattsf250 All I can say is what the dealer told me. He said injector pump. I assume he is talking about the high pressure oil pump for the injectors. I also read and article somewhere that there was a design flaw in the injector pump. Now maybe someone got injector pump mixed up with injectors I don't really know.
