I put a Paxton Novi 2000 on my '99 V-10 this summer, and it made one helluva difference. Paxton quoted me $5,100. for the kit. When I got done laughing and asked who might be "dealing" on the Novies, they referred me to Summit Racing in Ohio. Got it from Summit for $3,935.39. Good luck!

No tranny problems after 12,000 miles since installation (46,500 total miles on v-10). The Paxton installation manual *strongly* recommends that you install a tranny kit when you install the supercharger. My tranny guy wouldn't do it. He said it would cause to much "slamming" upon shifting, and that would probably do more damage than the horsepower increase. It seems he was right.
The Paxton comes "with" a Superchip (you have to phone-in your computer code off the driver's door sticker before the chip will be ordered by Paxton). The chip alters several things in the computer, including the tranny's shift points and firmness of the shifts.
I "use" mine for passing performance only, and I don't do 'pedal to the metal' starts from stoplights, or any crap like that. If you can restrain the impulse to blow away other rigs at every opportunity, your tranny will probably hold up pretty well.
