Exclamation What do I need?

Ok I've decided on the Paxton Novi 1200 for my 93 F150, I have to make a bracket for it to mount it to my engine. My AC compressor is dead so I can remove it and put the Novi there.

Shoud I make a complete bracket for both the blower and the power steering pump or one just for the blower?

Do I need another tensioner pulley for the novi to get rid of the chance of belt slippage? It has a 6 rib 3.33inch pulley on the blower right now so it will work with my serpentine belt (I hope!)

What type of boost levels should I expect to see from this... my crank Pulley is 6.5 inch the blower pulley is a 3.33 and max rpm will be 5000 I just dont know what the step up ratio is internally in the novi 1200 so I dont know what the impeller speed will be.

How should I go about getting enough fuel into the engine so I wont run into a lean condition? FMU, Injectors, Computer chip... etc etc?

Should I get a By-pass valve to limit the amount of boost after the blower and to get rid of the boost when shifting (closed throttle).

How much pressure is too much pressure (boost) on a stock internals engine? (safe amounts...not too safe amounts...your an idiot to have this much amounts!!! )

Will the stock coil and distributor be up to the job? How much should I retard the timing for a given boost amount?

Thats all the questions for now but there will be more! THANKS!!!

i would not run the sc on the serpintine belt, run it on its own belt, with its own tensioner. you want the belt tension to be higher on the sc belt to minimize slippage. you will need a bracket for this, and yes i would have provisions for the ps pump on the bracket so that the bracket has more strength mounting to more engine bolts. you will also need a sc crank pulley.

as far as fuel, get a fmu, unless your motor is up to handling 36# injectors and a big fuel system the fmu is required. stock computer is fine. im assuming this is a basically stock motor.

with a 5-6psi kit you dont need a blowoff valve. once your above 7psi i would consider it.

that blower is probably only good up til 7psi, the motor can handle that with proper tuning.

the stock coil and distributor will work with lots of boost. when you get into higher levels of boost, i would upgrade to an ignition box. its not necessary with that kit but every bit counts. i would get colder plugs.

the timing should be set to 10deg btdc and left at that. you only need the boost retard if you want to get more out of the motor when not in boost. are you running higher timing now? if not then dont bother with a boost retard and stay at 10deg.

this is all based on my work with my 5.0 stang. im assuming that it is basically the same computer wise and fuel system wise, if not you may need to upgrade.
