Seating changes
Hey I have seen some Expeditions with two captains chairs in the back instead of the second row bench seat.. It gave a nice little walk through to the third row..
Well the question is, I have a 99 Expy EB with leather seats and I was wondering if anyone has though of or tried to replace the 2nd row bench with captains?
Thought about looking for a pair from salvage or even from the factory if they would go in ok...

2nd row captain chairs
I have a 2000 expy EB, with quad seating (4 Captain chairs) I love it. like you said a nice walkway to the 3rd row. If you want to install captain chairs in the 2nd row, and you currently have the split bench, be prepared for a little work. you have to drill out new set holes, cause when the bench seat is installed at the factory these holes are not drilled. plus I have a friend who wanted to do the same on his 01 expy. but was told by Ford that the seatbelts would not work properly. (not sure of what they meant, or why) hope this helps

I just purchased a 99 Expy "limited" and it has quad seats. I understand that this was a dealer add-on package that was put together to include the rear captains, video system, wood kit, etc. Here are the pics that the dealer still has up on his site:

The only problem with these seats is they do not fold forward so you lose the cargo area. But they are quite comfortable and they recline.
If you like them I can look to see who made them. I'm sure a van conversion company or something.

kidtriton, you are correct my friend. those are not from an Expy. and the quad seating was not a dealer package. it was offered by ford to anyone that wanted them. I have them in my 2000 Expy EB. and yes they do recline, and yes they do fold down forward and flat, and they have a flap that folds down and covers the gap betwwen them and the rear step-up. the pic from that dealer show the front seats having arm rest. have never seen that in an Expy before, but I might be wrong. Short and to the point..... I had 4 expys to choose from when I bought mine, (auction) only one had the quad seating. wouldn't trade it for one without it for anything... i will get pics up soon

As I understand the quad seating was offered starting in '2000 and was not offered in '99. My second row captain's chairs are different from what you have in your 2000 and do not fold. The window sticker on my truck says '99 XLT, then there is another sticker for the "Limited" package. There are other trucks like mine for sale on the net, so I guessed that someone came up with the package and sold it to dealers.
