Ever since Ford reflashed me, I have been getting shift flair going into o/d. It only does it during light acceleration. When I hold steady acceleration it shifts just fine. Sometimes it does it every shift, sometimes it won't do it for a whole day. Whwn it does shift "normal" it is fine, but the flar is driving me nuts. Is there anything I can do to get rid of this? BTW, this was done under warranty and I am now out of waranty. If I have to I can maybe talk the dealer inot reflashing back to the original program if they will. Will a valve and springs help??????????
Typically, the stealership can't reflash to an older program. They've got the most recent burn available, an that's probably what you already have. You do have choices, though. A chip or programmer will give you the option of any code you want, and most programs include electronically boosting the pressure in the valve body of the tranny. If you're happy with the other aspects of the program you already have, the valve and springs will firm up your shifts. At $40, you'll wonder why you didn't do it sooner.

Well, I guess calling the dealer and asking nicely for my old program is out of the question. I like the firmer shifts I get with my SCMT, Quadzilla, BUT I would like just a little more "positive shift" if you know what I mean. I don't want the thing to shift like the old school "shift kits", but I do like a firm positive shift. I would also like the o/d shift to be a little tighter. I guess next time I change tranny filter and fluid, I slap in a valve and springs. Thanks
