SuperTech vs. Valvoline

I have heard that SuperTech 10W30 oil has a better additive package than conventional Valvoline All Climate 10W30. Is this in anyway true?

BTW has anyone ever heard of Northland Motor Oil? They are based out of Waterloo, Iowa.

Its hard to prove anything about SuperTech oil besides that it is oil. Valvoline is good oil and I don’t think the SuperTech oil is better. Maybe if you had herd they were equal that would be more believable. Being better is almost out of the question in fact lesser is the most likely answer.

blueranger really has nothing to back up his claim. i dont know if ST is better but i wouldnt be suprised. ST makes fine oil and just cause valvoline is expensive doseant make it better.

You have got to be kidding. I don’t think any of what I said needs backing up, its common sense. SuperTech is generic SL oil. The odds are against it having a better additive package.

I belive Super Tech is a 2nd rate oil connected to Quaker State.Correct me if im wrong !!!...I dont play games when it comes to lubrication i would rather spend more money on the well known proven brand like in my case Castrol and know my Engine wont be trashed....Cheers

Sir consider yourself corrected.

Super Tech is as good as any other SL oil.

Cost and quality are not the same.

its hard to prove anything about valveoline except that its oil. like i said before ST is not a second rate oil and has a good of an oil additve as any other oil, and its been proven before in rigours tests. go ahead and pay for the fancy label and TV commericals id rather pay for good quailty oil without the fluff.

Group II oil and has just as good additive package as mobil 1,lots of Boron!. I was using Supertech oil(5w30) for about a year. The 10w30 doesnt have any Moly in it. Its great oil for 3K changes but wouldnt trust it any longer than that. I have been considering the Supertech blends though. At a $1.63 a quart they may be the better bargain.

Nickel 0
Manganese 0
Silver 0
Titanium 0
Potassium 0
Boron 427,687
Silicon 0
Sodium 0
Calcium 9574
Magnesium 71,564
Phosphorus 34,875
Zinc 64,754
Barium 0
SUS VIS@210F 63.6

I like how it has a nice chunk of boron in it for such a cheap oil.
