Turning LLS off?

****Newbie****

I searched, couldn't find anything specific.

Anyone run their truck with lls off? I feel like running a lower stance without messing with the sensors. bad for the truck or just a rough ride?

Just turn it off and see what happens - Shouldn't matter as long as there are no slow leaks but don't be surprised if you wake up one morning to find it sagged to the rubber frame stops. Then you WILL have a rough ride.

Many on here have adjusted ride height with sensors but I never did.

The suspension "kneels" to aid entry and exit when vehicle is off. Theoretically, the vehicle is lifted into an ideal running position with the ignition on.

To drive around with your vehicle in the kneeled position, here are some possible risks:

1) The vehicle may bottom out, especially when you have excessive load.

1a) This may result in premature wear and tear to the suspension components.

1b) The air inside the bags are subject to expansion and contraction, due to ambient/internal temperature fluctuation and atmospheric/barometric conditions. This may further reduce your suspension travel since the system is not "on" to compensate.

2) This may put your vehicle out of the ideal shock travel range. Shocks are built to a certain max extension/max compression lengths based upon the expected suspension travel. There is a middle range in the shock travel where it provides the most compliant ride.

2a) In doing so, you might put yourself (at times) out of the middle travel range of the shocks and experience a more harsh ride.

So after all this, it only about one inch. Do I think it would cause a problem? Not really. As long as you don't leave the thing off and go from sea level to 10,000 feet and from 95 degrees to 35 degrees.

I would, however, turn the thing on once in a while so that the system can cycle and normalize.

JAMES.
