I have a 1999 F 250 Super Duty V-10. Bought the truck in 1998
one of the first ones that came out. The Problem I have had from day one is the inside window has dirty grime on it that builds up
so bad you cant see out the truck. I don't smoke and I am the only one that uses the truck. I have brought it to the dealership which as everyone knows is not fords fault its my fault. I have asked if it could be a leaking antifreeze with the design of the truck they insisted it could not be antifreeze so I am tempted to have window replaced on my own to see if it is the window or the truck. At this point I am so disgusted with dealing with the dealer who does not want to help me, but instead point the finger to someone
else.
Do you use armor-all on the inside of the truck on the dash or the trim? I have heard that it can cause a film to develop on the windows. I don't use it so I have not had the problem.
i don't use armor-all, that is something i didn't even think of.
what is weird is you cant even remove all of the grime. even if you use best window cleaner. i really think its antifreeze but i cant make the dealer fix it, if he wont admit there is a problem with the truck. all i know is for what i pay for my trucks i wish
dealers would at least go out of there way to help me. But the only time that happens is when the check book is open. other than the windshield problem the truck is great.
is the problem on all windows?, i own a 97 f250 and occasionally i get a blackish film near the blower vents(dash and door 1/4 windows) i beleive its just an oilly mist from the engine compartment.
the heater blower is in the engine compartment, check to make sure that your not pulling extra air through a crack in the heater plenum.
good luck
