I am sitting in my MarkVIII at the post office, writting checks, getting ready to mail off some bills, when in pulls a newer Ford Truck next to me.The guy gets out, hits his remote, and MY doors lock!By the time he gets around his truck,I grab my remote and unlock his and mine.He turns around hearing his doors click, grabs his remote and locks them again(looking somewhat puzzled I might add)Now anybody who knows me,,,,,well,,,,,I had to do it again, well now he is getting(censored for the children)lets just say upset.By now I cant keep from laughing so I beep my horn,he looks over, holding my remote up where he can see it,I locked his doors again!
At first he was how u say notsohappy, but while standing in line in the post office he started laughing too.
True Story!Every time I think about it I still laugh.
Anybody else got a picture this moment
Wow that is interesting..... With all the possible codes out there two vehicles in the same place with the same code.
I am sure one of you guys out there knows the frequency range the FCC allots and how many possible combinations there are for these remotes. That would be interesting to know.
I was in a parking lot one day. Across the ailse was a vehicle almost identical to mine (plain white minivan from that "other" automaker). Upon returning to my vehicle, I noticed a man standing next to my van with keys in hand and a puzzled look on his face. When I got up to him, I suggested he try his key in the other van. After a chuckle, he drove off in the other van.
OK, I admit it: it's a Chevy! Does that make me a bad person?
I once had a key to GM vehicles... universal key..
I dont remember how the guy got it but he gave it to me
and Id unlock my moms car all the time w/ it
Because she was always leaving the keys in her car.
So instead of taking her keys w/ me, id just take that one key with me at all times
So a couple years ago Im working in the back of my service van and this hottie pulls in the parking lot Im in, jumps out of her car and arms her alarm which also armed mine at the same time. The fun part was my remote was sitting at home. It was a cheap radio shack alarm which I quickly disconected.
My dad had a spare key from a 96 f-150 4x4 (sold the truck about 5 years ago)(had a dealer tag on the key to identify it) in his tool box and he left his 99 F 250 psd (traded it in a few months ago) in our shop with out the keys in it and I needed to move it so just for laughs I pulled out the f-150 key and stuck it in the ignition and jiggled it and it started the truck, Whats the odds of that.
I have a habit of hitting the panic button on my truck in crowded parking lots to help me find it, and several times I have caused other vehicles to 'panic.'
But the funniest thing that happened to me was when I was actually buying my truck. Tony, the salesman, wanted to take a look at my trade-in: a blue T-bird. I told him where it was parked and when he came back to the office he told me he had a devil of a time getting the key to work. I didn't understand, so I went to look at my car. When I stepped out the door I said, "Tony, that's not my car." He didn't believe me, but the fact is I was parked right next to another blue T-bird and my key started this guy's car!!
HaHa,
After posting that and mentioning the words Post Office, now I am getting e-mails saying(Never go to the post office again, own your own stamp machine)Which gives me an idea.
the same thing happened to me with a aftermarket remote starter,as I was leaving a mall I hit the start button and a car 4 spots down started up but mine didn't. I stood still for a few seconds hit it again still mine didn't start,I used my keys to get in and start it. since it was cold out I decided to let mine warm up and wait for theirs to shut down before leaving.
i had the same thing happen on my old 2002 superduty in the bass pro shops parking lot a year or so ago. it was another ford vehicle parked next to me...thei horn beeped every time i hit the lock button....maybe thiis is a pretty comon thing?
I don't have a key fob story, but I have a key story.
My buddy Jason and I were leaving hockey practice one night a few years ago. Just for fun, I pulled my keys out of my pocket and unlocked his doors. We both stopped what we were doing, and I rechecked to see I had my keys. He checked to see if he had his keys. Sure enough, he had his keys in his pocket, and mine were in his door lock.
Then, I figured, go for the long shot. I gave him my ignition key. The thing started right up.
Hooda thot? He had a 82 Fairmount. I had an 87 Tempo. That "same key" came in handy more times than I can count.
