F250 rear
I have a 1996 250 superduty with a ford 10 1/4 diff. 350 ratio limited slip.Is there anyway to improve the limited slip to get more bite( it acts like an open diff almost right now). I was told that Ford did not offer a 373 ratio for my truck. Are the new rears interchangeable with mine? It appears that they now have a 373 LS available.

I have 3.73's in my 99 PSD and do believe it is 10.25" also. I've heard several complaints about the 99 and up trucks with the factory limited slip diffs. Most poeple are saying they basically act like an open diff. I'm not sure what I have as I just bought the truck a month ago and haven't looked yet or spun the tires. My 94 F250 had a factory LS diff and it works like it should. That truck has 3.55's.

My rear axle came from a 95 250 or 350 (the salvage yard wasn't sure which) and it is a 3.55L and it bites good with both wheels.
It may be that you need new clutches and springs.
