Question Brakes.... a how to?

Any suggestions out there for learning how to do brakes on a Super Duty. I don't have any experience doing brakes but I can turn a wrench .

Anyway any good postings or manuals you can point me to?

thanks

Tom

I have a f350 super duty .I do my own brakes it's a no-brainer once you play with and take things apart. I'm a trial and error type person . I'm sure their are many books and some else may be more help. Good luck and God bless.

What do you want to do to them?

Replace the caliper?
Pads?
Rear parking brake?
etc. etc.

Well they are not due just yet. I am asking for a recommendation for a good manual or website that documents the process so when the time does come I will have a clue before I start taking the brakes apart.

Just a regular Chiltons or Haynes manual will probably be OK. I did mine with a Haynes and it took you through step by step what needed to be done. If you've ever done brakes before you probably won't need any manuals. There's nothing special about SD brakes that I'm aware of. Just my 2 cents...

Brakes on these tryucks are pretty basic but for a first timer my advice is to check out a Haynes or Chilton manual like mentioned and then lift the whole axle and remove both wheels at once and do one side at a time leaving you a reference factory set up available should you forget how or where a piece fits. Just my ¢.02
