need a bed

well with the starting of the "project 78 beast" iam in need of a bed. the bigest problem as of now is that the beast is a shortbed fleet/style side. and to say the least after i get the truck finished i should be a grade A body man. so if anyone knows were i could pick up a repairable/restorable shortbed or even a decently priced flatbed email me and let me know. i hate the idea of putting a flatbed on the truck but it is looking mor and more like that is going to be the route iam going to go due to it being so hard to find a shortbed. but if anyone has any connections or ideas let me know...thanks

You might try Midway Ford's body shop in Kansas City. I would call them first. They seem to do a fair amount of Ford truck body work.

www.car-part.com .... national listing of millions of junkyards around the nation that you can narrow down my state, and part and it will give you a price of the part, if given, and the contact info for the junkyard the part is located at.

Hope this helps.

Talk to scsmitty78. He has a bed that might fit. The gas doors are shaved on it.

Too bad, U-Wrenchit had a short bed stepside that could have been rebuilt about two months ago. That baby is probably been crushed, smelted and on its way to Japan to make Toyotas by now. Sucks to see parts go away like that. You might swing by there though and see what they have.
