Stiff Steering
Improper installation on balljoints can increase the failure rate.
You shouldn't have anything bigger than a 8" plow on a 250 .
Do you have the plow pkg on this truck ?
You have a diesel ,its heaveyin the front without the plow . Don't be like alot guys I see running around with their plow on when its not needed .
Get some "moog" greaseable ball joints.
If you run oversize tires and wheels this will also put some stress in the ball joint area.

Believe me, I never drive around with my plow unless I have to plow.
The tires are OEM size.
I now realize how much more weight the diesel motor has over the gas motor. But shouldn't Ford adjust for this in their front ends if this is the case?
The dealer is already in process of replacing the ball joints with OEM parts, it's too late to change to your suggestion. What I don't understand is why Ford still makes these joints non-greasable when the customer would be much better off with the greasable joints???

The thing is I still feel somewhat the same steering "stiffness" as before. Basically, this is what I am experiencing:
With the transmission in Park or Drive (and at a stand still), if I fully depress the brake pedal, I can't turn my sterring wheel. If I let off the brake pedal to about half way or less, I can turn the steering wheel. The service manager said that this is normal as both the steering and brakes run off the same "lines" (sorry, I'm paraphrasing here).
Is this what everyone here experiences? Could you folks try this on your own trucks so that I don't lose my marbles to paranoia.
I would truly appreciate your feedbacks on this.
Raf
