I have another question. My ranger is a Flex fuel. Does that make a difference in what type of plugs I have to use? I thought I read some one was have an issue with that.
I have seen if any one has had problems with the autolites. Have they. Plus it looks like the motorcraft that Autozone won't work either. Any input will work. I'm not ready to pay 7.30 a plug
I think Ford now recommends the new "fine wire" platinums from Motorcraft, even for the flex fuel. And I'm pretty sure Bob Ayers is running them in his Ranger right now.
But I don't want to speak for Bob, so hopefully he'll see this and chime in.

Hi Joe!!
Yes, you are correct!!!
I had a discussion with a Motorcraft rep at Sema back in November, and I was asking him about the availability of the
AGSF12PP plugs for the 3.0L FFV. He said that Motorcraft had a newer platinum plug out, called a "fine wire" platinum. I am trying them now (Motorcraft P/N AGSF12FMF6) which my local Ford dealer was able to order for me. They were $4.79 a piece from
Ford. I also exchanged e-mails with a Motorcraft engineer, and he
said that the firing voltage was reduced on the "fine wire" platinums due to the electrode structure....
Sounds good they sold me the coppers and $3.49. wonder why the didn't tell me. must need to order. I call the dealership right not. Did it solve that sluggish miss-fire?
I just order the "fine wire" plug. $5.40 a piece. Not all dealers have them listed. When I get'em and put'em in I will give a up date.
Thanks for the info
Bob.
I think this is the last time I order parts from a retiered super bowl qaurter back who owns car dealerships.
