I like all steak, as long as its tender and not like a strap of leather. Med. Well to Well done mmmmm mmmmmmm. But the thing i like most is a rack of ribs. I would love to go to Amarillo TX. and get the 72oz steak. I bet that thing is delicious especially with the football size baked potato, mmmmm.
Originally posted by sinjin I'm a rib-eye fan as well. BTW I heard once a significant amount of U.S. "prime" grade beef goes to the federal prisons. Might be a myth though, never had the pleasure of their hospitality.

Help me out here MATTSBOX99
I gotta agree with that, Kannata. Everyone gives me a hard time about my red steak, but I give them a hard time about their crunchy piece of bark. Sometimes I get a rare steak, but I usually go for medium-rare because it cuts more easily.
I dont care where it's cut. sirloin, ribeye, tbone, porterhouse. Cook it med rare, and hand me a steak knife. No sauce, no salt, no pepper. Just beef, charcoal grilled, thank you.
I too, enjoy Porterhous or Filet Mignon.. both excellent cuts of meat. I prefer rare, I eat the fat.. and no sauce for me, either. If you have to put A-1 on it, the meat wasn't cooked right (A-1 pretty much drowns out any other flavor and all you taste is A-1). Once in a while the Filet Mignon is nice with some blue cheese.
Well when it comes to beef, I prefer rib-eye medium rare! However, given a choice I will take a sword fish steak grilled over charcoal over beef any day! I just wish I could buy a side of sword fish like I can a side of beef!
1st choice is any red-meat tenderloin, especially venison.
2nd choice is not a steak per se, out west they called it tri-tip roast. Made the best roast beef sandwiches I've ever had.
3rd would be any good steak, medium please, with a little Trail Dust seasoning and ground peppercorns. I like t-bones and sirloin.
I love a good ribeye, Spencer, T Bone, Porterhouse or Club Steak. All are great grilled medium rare for me. It really does pay to check the meat grade. Whenever I buy the "select" grade(Under various disguise names) I am usually disappointed with a tough steak. The Choice is the way to go.
For a cheap steak that is a little tougher but very tasty, try Chuck. Most chuck has a fair amount of marbeling or fat whcih gives it good flavor. Usually it is not as tender but can be tenderized if needed.
I don't care for Sirloins, usually not enough marbling so not as much flavor. Also these are often tougher than I like.
Just my opinion, now I am hungry and realized I haven't had a good steak in a few months due to sissy family.
