Whats your favorite type of popcorn?? I included the ones that I see the most in the stores; butter, caramel and cheese. Other if there is another that you perfer. I personaly could eat caramel corn all day and never get tired of it. The only thing holding me back is the stores stock of it!!
I like the cheese popcorn, but I really like popping my own, and for that I prefer the white kernels and lots of salt and butter.... MMMMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
I prefer real kettle corn, if I get it at open air markets...it's yummy! If I nuke popcorn at home, I like it "light"...no butter, little salt. When I use the air popper, I like to sprinkle on a little wheat germ or parmesan cheese for flavor. The butter oil that movie theater popcorn is drenched in is nauseating to me. And I am NOT a health nut! LOL!
One of my weaknesses is popcorn, it's my absolute favorite. If we go to the mall I always have to run in the theater to get a bag. When we see a movie I'll eat about three bags of the stuff. No kiddin' ............

Never had kettle corn from vendor, but I tried the microwavable kettle corn YUUUUCCK! I couldn't throw that sickly sweet stuff out fast enough. And the stench didn't clear out of the mwave until I put a glass pot of water in there and boiled it for 10 minutes.
Best popcorn is stove popped in oil, with fresh gently heated butter poured over top when done. My dad also had an old electric popper that was wide at the top and narrow at the bottom so you only needed a tablespoon of oil, and it sat on its own electric coil base. That was the BEST.
My favorite is popping corn on the stove top, with a nice amount of hot butter. Never have cared for either nuked (too tough) or hot air corn (too bland). We received a neat popper a few years ago for the stove top, has a crank/stirrer built in. It pops corn extremely well.
We have a real problem here in Pueblo. Seems the grocery stores are being bribed by the microwve popcorn suppliers, and it is extremely hard to find a bag of regular popcorn any more! Only convenient grocer only carries their own store brand, no Orville's or Jolly Time. I can buy popcorn at the farmers markets, and have found it to be pretty good.
There is a place our band plays that pops corn in a full size theater type popper and the owner puts hot sauce in the kettle before it pops. Man that stuff smells good when popping and the taste? Yummmmm!
I love kettle corn. I have a friend who makes gourmet popcorn at her deli as a sideline. I was sceptical at first. But it's really good. She makes all sorts of crazy flavors. Like cranberry, vanilla, sour cream & chive, raspberry, etc., etc. The whole idea was gross at first. Now, I can't get enough of the stuff. She also makes awesome popcorn ***** for those of you that know what they are.
