Dremel tool sounds perfect to me!!
What bulbs did you go to?
Yeti,
I wanted to get the Silverstar's, but opted for the Sylvania Cool Blue's (I think that's what they are called)...
Originally posted by Yeti Ah, so I need to spend another hundy in bulbs to make these things work good..
Are they even DOT legal?
That's the same thought I had when I first turned them on... BUT, after seeing how good they look compared to the '00 stock lights, it was worth it...
Honestly, I think they look even better than the newer model stock lights. I wouldn't be surprised if the new SD's have lights that look almost identical to the APC's. My wife's new Expy has factory lights that look very similar...
I really think you'll like them after all is said and done. I will say, though, I was glad I didn't pay $300-$400 bucks for them like they originally sold for on Ebay.
Sorry Yeti, I can`t remember. It`s been 2 years and getting back in there is a PITA. The APC stock fog bulbs REALLY suck.
The replacement Silver Star bulb on the stock Ford fogs are 9005`s.
Well, I ended up buying silver star replacements for the 9006 and 9005's, that these things take. I hope that gives me what I need to make night seem like day
1. Don't silicone your lights off unless you are getting gallons worth of puddles in them. Headlamps are supposed to be vented! Condensation is NORMAL! :Hearings ounds of "Uh oh" and silicone begin scraped off: I had the same issue after a few days with the Diamond cuts I got for my Ranger....if I wante the new lamps to dull out and yellow like factory, I would have sealed them up tight!

2. The XL trim with those older style pull oull headlamps that suck because of the *lenses* and not the bulbs.....I believe that AutoZone sells a conversion kit that fits 6 x 8 lamp assemblies and is pretty much universal.....much cheaper than the composites and looks as good as the aftermarket composites.
3. If you pay $40 for overadvertised SilverStar blue lights and get better results out of them over stock lights (remember, the lenses are the lousy part here), you are better than I or think spending $40 just "makes it better".
To tell you the truth, I decided against them, I currently have them on Ebay.
I have no time to get them in, and Im thinking about getting into a new one.

HI AL --- read the post from this guy and the most obivous point I take away from his post....
he has anger managemnet issues
Hope he is not you !!!!! but just wanted to point out we have a LOT more important battles to fight than light bulb preferences
I tend not to listen to people that feel they need to "talk down" to their audience - over and over again it has been proven to me this type of person hasn't quite matured and has the "prove I'm smart" syndrome --- which they usually can not do
but hey, to each his own...
that's why I visit this site and stay out of some others where the slander is the most important topic of each and every day !
