Hi to all this will be my first Post I have a 1986 Ford Ranger XLT 2.9L V6 4X4 4 spd Auto Trans.
Here the problem ok when the engin is cold it runs great but ounce it gets warm it has a bad miss and burns lots of fuel. the miss usaly happen when i try to go from a constant speed then accerrate it acts like it is missing on a cyclinder or 2 also the idle is rought and somtimes stalls. I have all ready replace the plugs and wires as well as put a new fuel presure regulator in it and ideas or sugestions?? thanks
I have the same exact truck except mine is Fuel injected and a supercab. Have any problems with the radial arm mount? It used to run rough and fast until I put a new Filter in and checked the vac lines.

I had this problem with an "85 Ranger. It said to replace the "TPS", I did,ran great, for about 5 miles! I replaced the ignition module, ran great, for about 5 miles! Next I changed the ignition coil, ran great, til it got warm! Checked fuel pump & filter, they were fine. Engine would stall anytime it felt like it, as soon as it warmed up,and would always start right up again!
This problem was solved by jerking the injection off & replacing with a carb setup.I mention this only to let you know what things DIDN'T work.
well i did check for a Vacume leake none that were found that i could see and well being a fule injected motor it don't have a choke so thats out iw as thinking of the idle air by pass i think that the name of would it do the same thing ????
You need to have the codes pulled. When its cold it runs in open loop, not using some of the sensors, once it warms up it goes into closed loop and the computer starts using all the sensors and it sounds like it getting bad informmation from one of them.
