The best way is the honest way. The other day I got home from school and there was a message on the answering machine from the furnature store that we bought a $1,500 leather recliner called us saying that they had a chair for us (they had a computer glich and it showed the chair hadnt been delivered but we had recieved the one we bought) and we wouldnt have been charged for another one but my parents did the right thing and called them back and told them they had made a mistake.
I have found money several times in my life as well as a couple of new motorcycles stashed in my grandfathers abandonesd house a couple of months after his his death. I have always returned it-- funny the motorcycles became the property of the local sheriff without going to auction or even being mentioned in the paper. I turned the money over to the police a couple of times and once to the owner to the store i found it in in case they would return. I would say that the money never got back to the orginal owners in any case. I was a young kid when I turned it over to the police so i would say since we did not fill out any paper work or even ask me where I found it - well it probably bought some doughnuts for a couple years. I would say now after what i have seen in life you probably are not a criminal if you keep the money -- finders keepers. I wish I had kept the motorcycles instead of the psheriffs kids getting them. I worked for a business that dispersed of repoed goods, etc., I don't remebr it being law that you just kept stuff and didn't tell anyone as that sheriff did. i may not have made this clear but the motorcycles were not there until months after my grandfathers death- myself checking up on the place several times weekly.
Ghost- any idea on how that stuff got to your grandfathers house? pretty interesting story. i gotta say if i find anything like that... you can bet id keep my mouth shut about it.
If there was 500,000 dollars in the road, somebody had to have stolen it and lost it
I dont think a armored truck would loose that much money.
Id hold on to it, see if anybody runs a wanted ad for it, or what knot. and if you dont see an add.... keep whats left after you give me my share.
