Question Blackening chrome

I'm toying with the idea of blackening the windshield molding and window edges on my 89 van. I think the window edges are that chromed plastic stuff and the windshield molding is chromed or highly polished aluminum. I think paint would be alright for everything but the windshield. Might need something more chip resistant for that. Any suggestions?

The windshield is a tough place to paint.... It takes a lot of abuse. If you paint it, it may chip and peel very quickly. I did it to my head lamp bezels on my 76 Camaro with no problem. Though I have seen windshield mouldings peel. Try it and see how it goes. You can always strip it off if you need to.

I have chrome reveal molding around my windshield also on my 96 F350, Im certain there metal not plastic and I know there removable because I spoke with a guy from a local glass shop, you could consider getting them coated with line-x pretty tuff stuff would never come off but does have a ripply appearance, possibly ask a body shop about paint and sealer over top. I would like to blacken mine also.
