i am relplacing the clutch in my 89 ford f250 7.3idi 4x4...question is what to do keep the dual mass or go to solid conversion...in the near future i will be running 38's(tires) and probably some mud too...was just wondering if i should keep the dual mass or go to the solid but unsure since of the tire size and all....any info would be great....also i have never done a clucth before besides auto school 4 years ago....is this a driveway job for a guy who has never done one??? thanks
i just did mine and used a solid flywheel kit.i would not do it again by myself way to much weight involved.i would let a shop do it.they have the tools and jacks to take it out and put it back in.the solid flywheel works great
The smfw has alot of pro's weighing in on it's side especially with your truck. The Luk unit is larger, increasing torque capacity by as much as 25%, it is smoother on engagement, it is more durable and it is much easier to drive. Maybe the most important note is it is alot cheaper. Give me a call if you have any questions. 888-462-2739
I installed one of the Luk kits on a friend's 94 and they were tickled to death with it, the truck seemed to have more power and all, due to the mass of the flywheel.
